While the ground thaws and winter snow melts away, there’s something Martha is watching for as a welcome indication of spring: pussy willows. 26-gauge floral wire
One piece of sheet moss
Glue
Pussy willow branches
How to Make the Basket
This special basket can be used for showing everything from flowers to Easter eggs come spring. “A captivating pussy willow basket like this is an advantage,” Martha said in a television section, teaching viewers how to make the basket.
Location the moss on top of two pieces of flower wire.
Place the glass container, straight-side down on top of the moss.
Wrap the moss around the container, covering all sides.
Wrap the wire around the container and twist it so the moss is secure.
Complete any bare spots with extra moss.
Wrap another piece of floral wire about a 1/2 inch from the bottom of the container, leaving it somewhat loose.
Stand the container upright. Glue any excess moss at the opening down inside the container.
Cut pussy willow branches to about the height of your container.
Place the branches into the bottom flower wire till they cover the whole container.
As soon as the container is covered, cover another piece of floral wire around the top of the container to protect the pussy willow branches.
Cut your flower wire.
How to Make the Handle
